Exam Overview: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts recruitment exam for the post of Stenographers Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’.

The eligibility criteria are: The applicant must have passed class 12th or equivalent from a recognized a state or central recognized institute. The candidate must be 18-27 years. The selection is based on the performance in the objective exam followed by a skill test. The three sections of the paper are:

Reasoning English Language General Intelligence & General Awareness

Job Profile: Though there is a common written examination for both Grade-C & D but there is a huge difference in pay scale. The pay scale for Stenographer Grade-C is in the range of Rs. 9300-34800/- with grade pay Rs. 4200/- while that of Grade D is in range of Rs.5200-20200/- with grade pay Rs. 2400/-. (As per 6th pay commission)



Exam Overview: One of the major recruitment exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is the Combined Higher Secondary Level exam. It is an entry level exam for the post of LDC, UDC, DEO and Postal/Sorting Assistant.

The eligibility criteria are:
Candidate should have passed class XII or intermediate exam from a state or central recognized institute. Candidate’s age must be between 18 to 27 years. The examination is conducted in two stages:
Subject Marks Questions General Intelligence 50 English Language 50 Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic) 50 General Awareness & Current Affairs 50
Those who qualify in the written examination are called for a Skill Test. This round is qualifying in nature and it would test a candidate’s skills in typing.

Exam Overview:

The eligibility criteria are:

Candidate should have passed class XII or intermediate exam from a state or central recognized institute. Candidate’s age must be between 18 to 32 years. The selection process by the RRB entails a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 90 minutes with 100 questions pertaining to General Awareness (which may include General Studies or General Science), Arithmetic and General Intelligence & Reasoning. Those who clear the written test are further called for personal interview & document verification.
